~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I tried the same fur technique and it didn't quite work for a smooth shiny critter like this so I had to change it a little to make it work.
What is this? Is this a Sylphoid? Yes it is but let me explain first why it looks so odd. (for some of you who don't understand how Sylphoid magic works this might not make much sense so read the species sheet xD)
STORY TYME! fo those interested..
It is said that the first two Sylphoids were the most long lived and the first to prey on mankind. They considered each other something akin to brothers, they were Myrimur and Isph. Myrimur was a very powerful sylphoid who was mainly aligned to good but wasn't all that picky of the meals he made. While Isph was thoroughly devoted to goodness and strove to continually please the souls he took and steered clear of humans.
The two had a very competitive nature especially Myrimur, who always bragged to Isph about his growing power and strength.
It is said that a Sylphoid who lives for unimaginably long can gain so much soul power that they can willingly change their outward appearance and do things no regular sylphoid can.
Myrimur came to Isph every day with a new look not realizing the jealousy he was stirring in the other Sylphoid's heart. Most of who Isph was scorned this flashy display of power but a creeping hunger was growing in his belly for these things. Not to mention a deep oozing hatred of Myrimur.
One day Myrimur came to Isp, glowing with excitement and pleasure.
"look Isp! I have become so powerful not even the ground can master me!"
and with that he took off into the air, a winding ribbon of colors trailing cloud behind him as he flew without the aid of wings.
Something snapped inside Isph seeing this and he raged and seethed on the ground.
His thoughts turned to a nearby establishment of humans, a settlement blossoming into an empire.
"If Myrimur consumes human and animal alike maybe it is the humans that give him such power!"
With wild abandon he clambered over the walls and began devouring man, woman and child alike, his hunger insatiable as his jelous rage. They were powerless to stop his rampage as he was strong enough to deflect and repel their primitive weapons.
Hundreds.. nay thousands he devoured and all who stood in his way, painfully pinching the souls from their body.
When he was done there was no one left, even those who tried to hide or run were captured by his powerful senses.
Nothing was left of an aspiring empire but empty buildings and surfaces smeared with blood.
Tired by the rapid consumption and souls trying to resist capture he crawled to a nearby cave made of limestone and slipped beneath the earth. There he rested for many decades, not even caring about the well being of the people he consumed he tortured their souls whenever they rose up to resist him in his conscious. Or left them wandering confused and alone in a blank purgatory.
His once lustrous long fur became slick and sleek, its vibrant white a glittering bone chill in the darkness.
He was changing.. changing under his own will and with the emotions of greed and destruction he wrought.
His paws grown claspy and vicious like talons and a mucklike black taint showing itself to be growing around his mouth and toes. Many years from now he would be a slick oily black and he did not care.
Emerging from the cave with a slithering crawl he sought out Myrimur and found him basking on a rock in the sunlight, swollen with a recent meal.
"Isph!" he cried, first with pleasure at seeing him again but then as his eyes roved over the friend he once knew, he knew that spirit no longer existed.
Without a word Isph set upon Myrimur with the hunger of battle in his deep black and brown eyes. The two fought, a tangle of coils, teeth and fur.
Evenly matched it is said that they still continue to battle on somewhere secret, locked in eternity still infused with ancient power. Dying and being reborn as a new creature, their previous soul's power influencing them to find eachother again and war the ages away.
TL;DR Isph is like my other character Myrimur who is an elemental or mythical sylphoid. Not a regular one
I wonder if anyone can tell which amphibian I based his markings on (even though its a rare morph color of the original). hint: Poisonous
No I am still not allowing the creation of Sylphoid characters, please do not ask or go ahead and do so.
Sorry for such a huge description on such a small picture >.> iv had this idea in my head for a long time.
