I loved it too! I love how each generation adds new features. Although in terms of loving the general design of the pokemon, 4th generation is my cutoff point. I don't like the look of the black and white ones. Also features in that game got a bit confusing. It was nice that tms no longer broke, but all that short distance wireless stuff was pretty much garbage. [opinion]
My opinion on the pokemon designs is that per gen the shit per gem ratio is increasing (aka the pokemon whos designs I don't care for = shit vs. pokemon that I really like = gems) However im finding that the harder it is to find those gems all the more intensely I fall for them. Seriously! 5thgen gave me my new top favorite flying - Braviary, Bug - Scolipede & fighting - meinshao as far as those typings go. I am however not liking the lands/environments or story/playthrough as much as previous gens. Favorite game still being Soul silver.
I actually liked how they tried to change a bit from their normal way of doing things with the story and environments, but it didn't seem to work all that well. The game did have some gems, but way too many repeats and bad designs for my taste.
