For my second entry! To *PearlEden and =kankakanka's contest. A different approach on the subject ;} More stylized and colorful than the last. Despite the fact that it has no background detail I did put alot of effort into all that damn Sylphoid fur. they are a BITCH to color!

My inspiration for this one was adapting a sylphoid to be a chinese dragon-like flyer. Clouds streaming from its paws and sweeping back over its lengthy body.
I must say Air is a very tough to define in color, sure theres blues but blues is chiefly water's color too. So I decided to base its design on sky, air, light and things that are involved in the intangible environment of air. The sylphoids main body color is reminiscent of sunset, its mane of the blue fine sky. Its ears are feathered like miniature wings. Those are also lighted orbs hovering around her neck and tail.
Im really happy with this ones design ^^ I may keep it on as an OC.

I really like the design, the feathered ears are real unique
I like all of it!
The fur looks like it was MURDER!!
I don't see much that could be critiqued, only thing would possibly be that the face looks
a little less detailed from the rest of the body

Having this a a OC would totally be badass! lmao xD
I'd have to try drawing him or her =D

The realistic way you handled your last entry was really nice, but I think I like this better as a design. =3 I think the color scheme fits really well with the element, but it's definitely not something I would have thought of. I like the stylized clouds. x3 The only thing that bugs me a little are the wing-ears. I think it's a neat idea but something about them doesn't seem right to me. Maybe my brain is expecting them to match the swirly white clouds, but instead their shape seems to mimic the blue fur on the back. Just a thought!
