Painting for dads father's day! Im not too sure if he has net access right now so I hope he sees it soon.
I anthropomorphized you dad! Iv always seen my dad as a silver fox, partially cause I turned his hair grey early with my psycotic teen years lol. I don't care to make my parents wolves simply cause my fursona is, I prefer to go with a phenotype that suits their personality. My father is a trickster, mischevious, teasing and sometimes annoying. Hes rather foxy xP Also a huge camerawhore. To me this resembles him very well in my head but heres a human picture for comparison (bad angle) [link] I reffed a different pic for his facial features. I also took the time to try and make the shading more realistic and properly define the lightsource. Taking into consideration some pointers you guys gave me :3 The only thing bothering me here is that his hands are a little too feminine and slim. Claws don't help either. The background is a snippit from one of his photos: [link] appropriately. I agree with Remik0 about making the hands thicker, but maybe shorter fingers would help too? I tend to associate longer, slender fingers to be feminine, while shorter fingers can be more masculine (of course this doesn't apply all the time since I have short, stubby fingers
Anywho, that's the only constructive comment I can offer on this piece. I think that you incorporated him well into the photo behind him. The lighting is spot on from what I can tell, although I might suggest adding a bit more orangey lighting around his head since it's directly in front of the sunset. Perhaps you tried that though? I dunno, just a thought. It might be too orange if you add too much more o.o;
Well, otherwise, I think this is a wonderful gift for daddeh's day
