Story:
Daredevil was born to a Tervuren bitch owned by a successful traveler and hunter who lived up in northern america. The man who owned them was very passionate for hunting to the point where he treated his dogs fairly badly, transporting them in uncomfortable conditions and often having them flown along with him to his next hunting destination. Despite his lead bitch being pregnant he took her along for the hunting trip up to north alaska which she suffered stress from the travel. When they arrived the bitch slipped away knowing her life would soon be over for the pups were twisting with sickening pain inside of her. She could feel a tingling numbness spreading through her abdomen. She walked for hours to get as far away from mankind as she could before laying down in a thicket and giving birth to three pups. Two stillborn and one struggling for life in the wet cold.
A female wolverine drawn by the scent of blood found the deceased mother and the gorey bodies of the pups, she herself had lost her own two young to trappers was still laden with milk yet shared no sympathy for the dead dogs. She feasted on the still warm bodies of the dead pups and seized the last up in her mouth not knowing it still lived. The newborn dog with eyes still closed squalled in rage and fear, struggling weakly and twisting to bite at the muzzle and pinching teeth holding it. Moved by the ferocity of the newborn creature the wolverine fancied it saw a little of its own lost young in the pup and accepted it as her own.

Raised by the wolverine Daredevil never had a name, had never spoken to any of his kind in 2 years of his life. He had struck out on his own at the age of 1 being fully grown by wolverine standards and had become adept at hunting and killing even the largest of prey. His ferocity that of his adopted species, he had no idea that he was a dog or how to properly behave like one, but he adapted well to hunt.
The owner of his mother returned to the hunting location with his dogs once more that year and came across Daredevil both on the path of caribou. Seeing the other dogs come bounding at him with wary barks and snarls, shouts asking him to disclose who he was and what he was doing on their hunting trail, Daredevil raised his hackles and held his ground.
The hunter recognized him by his facial marking, that exactly of the bitch that bore him, a sweeping lighter mask that covered the Tervuren's eyes. Yelling for the dogs to set upon him so he could capture the stray animal Daredevil went bezerk tearing into the noisy dogs like they were leaves in a wind. Every bite they inflicted on him only making him madder and madder, the hunter immediately rushed in and netted the beleaguered dog before he could understand what was happening. Stuck him with a tranq and transported him home senseless.
Over the next year the man hired many dog trainers to attempt to break Daredevil in and train him to be a human accepting fine hunting dog for his bloodlines were pure and he was an impressive specimen. However Daredevil would never submit to human touch nor training, he was ferocious and wild. Often spending his long hours locked up along in a cage meditating spiritually to keep from going insane. From the hunter's dogs who visited him occasionally he learned how to speak to them and gradually found out the circumstances of him being there. He enjoyed these dog's company but for the most part they were wary of him and disturbed by his apparent lack of emotion. His blankness came from the fact that he usually kept his ears held in the same position and displayed alien body language to these dogs, not knowing how else to act. He came off as constantly serious yet strangely blank, his new voice deep and slow speaking with a thick northern accent.

The hunter finding this dog useless sold him off to a japanese farmer who foolishly bought the dog for his bloodlines and herding breed without finding out the details of DareDevil's nature. The farmer usually kept him chained up outside the residence unhappily because he saw how untrained the Tervuren was. He saw many other farmers and dogs pass by but none ever came to talk to him like they used to in his cage. Despite being raised by a solitary creature his canine nature longed for the companionship of others. So dejected and listless he was that the famer thought he had caught i'll and was in the process of unchaining him from the kennel when Daredevil lept free and knocked him down, showing just as much vivacity as before. Taking the opportunity to escape into the surrounding lands he ran. For he was no killer, his philosophy is only kill to eat.
Essentially a loner he sometimes strayed around packs of dogs, talking to them for information and company. They also were disturbed by his lack of emotion and communication skills, sometimes challenging him to battle which he always refused because he didn't want to fight. Some fought him anyway thinking he was a pacifist and were brutally beaten down, yet left alive. He earned his name 'Daredevil' from some local dogs who saw him take down a bear fearlessly for prey. None of the other dogs who knew chose to mess with him after that.

Drifting from pack sideline to sideline he met a dog by the name of Ruger. He recognized the retriever and asked him where he might have seen him before. Apparently Ruger had seen him chained up at the farm and had asked around about this large menacing looking dog. Slightly abashed Daredevil tried to make himself seem a little less agressive, sinking into his zen state of mind and speaking with the other dog on equal terms. He asked Ruger if he had a pack and if he as a good hunting dog could be of use to them. For he was tired of being harrassed and ostrisized by the other local dogs and would have given anything for someone to watch his back.
Ruger then took him back to Sharp and vouched for his sincerity and strength, despite his odd behaviour.
It was there he learned of the evil dog Kira and the dogs quest to stop him. Happy to put himself to a task Daredevil joined the pack, yet he was never really free of other dogs picking on him. Some managed to accept him yet others were scared by his huge imposing appearence. He had yet to prove himself to them...

Sharp and Ruger belong to *Avyris they are her ginga OCs so I thought i'd wind Daredevil into her story because its just so awesome and her characters kickass xD
The style I drew him in is kinda cross between Ginga's wierd style and my own. It is perfectly stylised and not ment to be terribly accurate or real looking so no crits please.

Oh and yes this is just a quickly colored sketch, nothing really interesting hehe.
