EDITS MADE((to the people who have already seen this does this pop up in your inbox again as (updated)? If not how do I do that? -_-; ))
Made heavy edits to the lighting effects on the characters thanks to a few crits who unanimously thought they seemed a bit flat. Added some new shade colors and reworked alot of the shading on the clothes and Tiger.

Gosh its been a long time since iv drawn us as anthro <3 myself especially, most of them haven't made it past the sketch stage.

I made this artwork for our 2year anniversary of being together in person (after having a 3+ year relationship online overseas).
The background painting has so much work in it and looks awesome by itself you can see it here: [link] (as you can see the characters cover alot of it) the colors and scene was very inspired by my dad's photo "Red Pink Blue": [link] be careful you might hurt yourself on the level of awesome. xD

Guys... I really want you to go to town. PLEASE PLEASE critique this! I was using a totally new coloring method for the figures based entirely on pushing color theory and using neither pure blacks, whites or greys. LOOK MA NO MONOCHROME! This really really needs critique so I encourage you to be as harsh as you like aslong as it is constructive!
(just not on the tiger's stripe placement please that is part of his character design so its not exactly realistic tiger markings).

hmm... well if I had to think about one thing that may take this piece up a notch... I'd have to say the lighting on the characters seems a little bright / unfinished compared to the background. You have so many interesting tones and values and color compliments going on in the sky behind the characters, that it kind of makes them look flatter and not part of the scene--- as if they weren't really there and it was just a backdrop thrown behind them.
I see you've started to take some of the orange from the sky and reflect it off of their clothing, which is a good thing- and it actually is starting to make it look more convincing. I also like the purple you've put in the shadowy are of your shirt- you have the shadows blocked in great, it is just needing a little more contrast. Remember where the light is coming from. It's coming from behind and also the left. if you want to make it more believeable, maybe if you took some of the brighter sky colors like the ornages and maybe had that light reflecting around some of the edges of the characters (i.e. your hair, shoulders maybe, Tails- any of the edges and make them a little more prominent to the left side). - You started to do this and I can see it on your tail- but i think it needs a little more definition :nod: . I think that might help-- but at the same time, you want to darken up the shadows slightly- amd maybe even take a multiply layer overtop and tap a very opaque light purple gray overtop the entire characters to dim down the intensity you have on them.- Don't overdo it though. Just enough to create more balance :)

I hope these tips will help :D Again, it's a fantastic piece! Keep up the great work!

First thought is that your anthros are actually firmly placed in a three D scene. The edits have put an aura of light around the pair brightening the clothes with natural end of day light and I love textures in the clothing. Creases look natural and I can touch the materials. Your use of scale is really accomplished and I cannot fault it and I love the pose you have created for the two lovers. And then there's the lovely soft pastel colour washes that blend and integrate the background and the subjects so well.This is one of your best works so far. Well done.

This is so cute! <3 Congrats on the two years. Me and mah fluffbutt are encroaching on the 6 months, so yay. :D I love how you stick to the idea of not drawing people as anorexic worm ridden animals. The Background is awesome. Can't really think of anything, sorreh. :C
